Who this is for

People living with diabetes who want more than a sugar reading

Most of our diabetes patients come to us already under a doctor's care. They are looking for support with the parts of diabetes that tablets and insulin do not fully settle.

Burning or numb feet

Diabetic neuropathy — tingling, burning, numbness or pins-and-needles in the feet and hands, often worse at night.

Poor sleep and low energy

Tiredness, disturbed sleep and stress that make readings swing and make it harder to stay with diet and exercise.

Weight and appetite

Support for the eating habits and cravings behind weight gain and insulin resistance — as part of a realistic plan, not a crash diet.

Pre-diabetes

Borderline readings, family history and a lifestyle that is hard to change alone. An early, structured programme.

Foot care and circulation

Circulation support for diabetic feet and slow-healing wounds, alongside your diabetologist or surgeon.

On insulin or tablets

You continue every medicine exactly as prescribed. We never ask you to stop, reduce or change any medication.

Honest expectations

What acupuncture can support — and what it cannot

What we work on with you

  • Neuropathy symptoms — burning, numbness and tingling
  • Sleep quality, stress and day-time energy
  • Appetite, cravings and weight as part of a lifestyle plan
  • Circulation and foot comfort
  • Sticking to diet, walking and medicines — with reminders and follow-up

What we do not claim

  • We do not cure or reverse diabetes
  • We do not replace your diabetologist, your medicines or your insulin
  • We do not promise a fixed HbA1c or weight result — results vary from person to person
  • We do not treat emergencies — very high or very low sugar needs a hospital

Acupuncture is a complementary therapy. Only your own doctor decides changes to your medication.

How the programme runs

Four steps, nothing hidden

  1. First consultation — about 45 minutes. Full history, examination, your reports and your current medicine list. We tell you plainly what we expect acupuncture to help with, and what it will not.
  2. A plan with a diabetologist's input. Dr Mohammed Salman Khan, MBBS, Diabetologist, advises on the medical side so nothing in the plan works against your treatment.
  3. Sessions with tracking. Usually 8–12 sessions, though the number varies from person to person. We track sugar readings, weight, sleep and symptoms with you and review at set points.
  4. Reminders and follow-up on WhatsApp. SEREON, our assistant, sends session reminders and you can ask practical questions between visits.

Questions patients ask

Acupuncture and diabetes — straight answers

Can acupuncture cure diabetes?

No. Diabetes is a long-term condition managed by your doctor. Acupuncture supports symptoms such as neuropathy, sleep and energy, and supports the lifestyle changes that help control sugar. It does not cure or reverse diabetes.

Should I stop my tablets or insulin?

Never. Continue every medicine exactly as prescribed. Only your own doctor decides changes to your medication. Our diabetologist advises on the medical side of your plan so acupuncture works alongside your treatment.

Does acupuncture help diabetic neuropathy?

Many of our patients come for burning, numbness and tingling in the feet. We work on these symptoms session by session and track them with you. Results vary from person to person, and we tell you honestly at review points whether it is helping.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually 8 to 12 sessions, but the number depends on how long you have had diabetes, your symptoms and how your body responds. We agree the plan after the first consultation and review it with you.

Is it safe if I have diabetes?

Acupuncture uses sterile, single-use needles. We take extra care with diabetic feet and skin, and we check your sugar history before the first session. Tell us about any wound, infection or blood-thinning medicine.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel a brief pinch or a dull, heavy sensation, then relax. Many patients fall asleep during a session. The first visit includes a gentle trial so you know what to expect.

Can I combine it with diet and exercise plans?

Yes — that is the point. The programme is built around your medical treatment, diet and walking. We support the habits; your doctor sets the targets.
