Terms of Service

These terms apply to every patient of GADAOC — Global Acupuncture Diabetes and Obesity Center, 66, 3rd Cross Road, HMT Layout, Dinnur, RT Nagar, Bengaluru 560032 (“GADAOC”, “we”, “the clinic”) and to every visitor of gadaoc.com.

1. Fees

First-time registration and consultation: ₹500. Treatment charges are set individually after diagnosis by the Acupuncture Practitioner, depending on the condition, treatment plan, duration and frequency of sessions, and are discussed with you before treatment begins. Fees are payable for the professional services provided.

2. Nature of care and outcomes

Acupuncture is a complementary therapy that supports the body’s own recovery. It works alongside, not instead of, care from your medical doctor. Results vary from person to person and depend on the condition, its duration, your overall health, and your participation in the plan — attending sessions regularly, following lifestyle guidance, and continuing medicines prescribed by your doctor. GADAOC does not promise a specific outcome or timeline; our practitioners commit to providing care to the best of their professional judgement.

3. Your responsibilities

Please share your full medical history, current medicines, allergies and recent reports; tell us of any change in your condition; and never stop, reduce or change prescribed medicines without your own doctor’s advice. In an emergency, call 108 or go to the nearest hospital.

4. Payment

Consultations and sessions are paid for at the time they are provided. A course of treatment purchased as a package is paid in full before the first session of that course. Payment can be made by cash, UPI or card at the clinic; a Bill of Supply is issued for every payment.

5. Appointments, cancellations and late arrivals

Appointments can be booked via SEREON on WhatsApp or by calling the clinic. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. A session missed without notice, or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, is chargeable as if attended and, for a prepaid course, is deducted from the remaining sessions — materials and the practitioner’s time are reserved for you. We do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but a late arrival may mean a shorter session, rescheduling or cancellation of that appointment.

6. Prepaid treatment courses and refunds

Fees for consultations and sessions already provided are not refundable. A prepaid course is valid for 6 months from purchase and is non-transferable. If you wish to discontinue a prepaid course, the remaining value is issued as a credit note, usable at GADAOC within 6 months, rather than a cash refund. A cash refund of unused sessions is considered only where a medical reason identified by the practitioner or your doctor prevents continuation, and is decided by clinic management. Courses bought under a discount or offer are valued at the discounted rate for any credit.

7. Offers and promotions

Offers, promotional packages and vouchers have no cash value, are for the named person only, are subject to availability and expiry, and may be changed or withdrawn by the clinic at its discretion.

8. Right to refuse service

GADAOC may decline or discontinue service where a patient’s conduct is abusive, threatening or otherwise inappropriate towards staff, practitioners or other patients, or where treatment is not clinically appropriate. The clinic’s judgement on such matters is final.

9. Informed consent

Every patient (or guardian, for a minor) signs a consent form before the first treatment, confirming that the nature of acupuncture, expected sensations and possible minor side effects have been explained, and that the information provided to the clinic is complete and accurate.

10. Concerns and complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your care, please tell us first — in person, at care@gadaoc.com or 080 4537 7078. We will respond within 7 working days and try to resolve the matter directly with you.

11. Website terms of use

Content on gadaoc.com is for general awareness only and is not medical advice or a substitute for consultation. Nothing on this site claims to cure any disease; acupuncture at GADAOC is offered as supportive, complementary care in keeping with the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. Text, photographs and the GADAOC name and logo are the property of GADAOC and may not be reused without written permission. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable Indian law. GADAOC is responsible for providing its services with reasonable professional care and skill. We are not liable for outcomes arising from information you did not disclose, from not following the agreed plan or medical advice, or from events beyond our reasonable control.

13. Registration

GADAOC is a private medical establishment in Karnataka. Registration details are displayed at the clinic and available on request.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. We ask that any dispute first be raised with clinic management under clause 10; unresolved disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts and consumer forums in Bengaluru.

Privacy Policy

This notice explains how GADAOC collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data. It is issued under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 with the Reasonable Security Practices and Sensitive Personal Data Rules, 2011, under which health information is treated as sensitive personal data.

1. What we collect

2. Why we use it and on what basis

We do not sell personal data.

3. Who sees it

Your data is seen by GADAOC’s practitioners and administrative staff, each with an individual login and a duty of confidentiality. With your consent, relevant clinical information is shared between our Acupuncture Practitioner and our diabetologist so that your plan is coordinated. To operate SEREON and our records we use service providers acting on our written instructions and bound to confidentiality: WhatsApp / Meta Platforms (message delivery), Anthropic (AI language processing of message text), ElevenLabs (voice processing), and secure database and hosting providers. Each receives only the data needed for its function. Where a provider processes data outside India, we rely on its contractual and security commitments. We disclose personal data without consent only where the law requires it — a court order, a statutory authority, or a lawful request from a law-enforcement agency.

4. How long we keep it

Clinical records are kept for at least three years from the last visit, and longer where medical record-keeping norms or law require. Booking conversations are kept while you remain a patient and for a reasonable period afterwards for continuity of care, then deleted or anonymised. Financial records are kept for the period required by tax law. Data is erased when its purpose is served, unless retention is required by law.

5. Your rights

You may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or updated, have it erased where we are not legally required to keep it, and withdraw consent to non-essential processing at any time (withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, and some services cannot be provided without your data). You may also nominate a person to exercise these rights for you. Requests can be made at the clinic front desk, via SEREON on WhatsApp, or at care@gadaoc.com. We respond within 30 days and do not charge for access. We may ask you to verify your identity first.

6. Children

For patients under 18 we collect data only with verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, given at booking or at the clinic, and we do not use children’s data for marketing.

7. Security and breaches

We follow reasonable security practices: access to patient records is limited to authorised staff with individual logins, data is stored on access-controlled servers, transmitted over encrypted connections and backed up regularly, and staff and contractors are bound to confidentiality. If a data breach affecting you occurs, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

8. Grievance officer and complaints

Grievance Officer: Prof. Dr. Syed Shabber, Founder, GADAOC — care@gadaoc.com, 080 4537 7078. Complaints about data handling are acknowledged within 7 days and resolved within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Website and cookies

gadaoc.com collects no personal data unless you choose to give it (for example by messaging us). Our hosting may record standard web-log information such as browser type and pages visited, used only for security and statistics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Changes

We may update this notice; the date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be shared through SEREON or at the clinic.
